International Medical Missions

My family and I were missionaries in Central America for 8 years. You can read about it at Honduras.
Since returning to the States, I have been involved in trips with Ohio University College of Osteopathic Medicine to El Salvador, Ecuador, Honduras and Haiti after the earthquake.

Dakin's solution for wound care and cleansing surfaces
I don't think the baking soda or boiling are necessary for the Dakin's solution,
basically use a solution 10 parts water, 1 part bleach,
use this to spray fruit and vegetables before cutting.
Honey
Honey works as a great topical antibiotic for wounds, burns, and ulcers. It releases hydrogen peroxide, speeds healing, and decreases scar formation.
It is usually available in most countries.
When using, you may need to control for insects
